Treatment Options

General & Family Dental Services

Preventative dental care is the cornerstone of our practice, ensuring you maintain a healthy smile. Whether you’re young or young at heart, our comprehensive dental care is tailored to meet every family member’s needs.

Comprehensive Dental Exams

Our comprehensive check ups go beyond the surface, utilizing digital X-rays we assess your overall dental health. Our approach allows us to detect issues early on and create personalized treatment plans tailored to your needs.

Preventative Teeth Cleanings

Our gentle and effective preventative cleanings include the use of ultrasonic power scalers and hand scaling instruments to remove plaque and calcified tartar build up. The teeth are then polished and an option for a fluoride varnish treatment is available.

Periodontal Care

Periodontitis, also called gum disease is a serious infection of the gum tissue that damages the tissues around the teeth and without treatment, continues to destroy the bone and the supporting periodontal structures that support the teeth. It is now understood that this condition is also linked to serious systemic problems such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, coronary artery disease and more.

The services Mt. Baldy Dental Center provides related to periodontal disease include:

  • Thorough and careful diagnosis
  • Scaling and root planing (root debridement therapy or deep cleaning).
  • Regular maintenance appointments
  • Soft tissue grafts in areas of gingival recession
  • Referral to a specialist (Periodontist) when appropriate

Dental Fillings

Once dental decay penetrates a tooth’s enamel, it reaches a softer layer of tooth structure called dentin. Cavities can progress rapidly through dentin toward the nerve of the tooth, so it is very important to remove all decay and place a filling before this occurs.

  • Mt. Baldy Dental Center places only composite resin (tooth-colored) fillings. This is a durable and attractive material that is bonded in place and light-cured.
  • We use advanced placement techniques to ensure that all tooth decay is removed and to avoid sensitivity that sometimes occurs with new fillings.

*Mt. Baldy Dental Center does not place silver/mercury fillings.
